about LEMC
LEMC (Listowel Evangelical Missionary Church) has a history in the Listowel community that goes back to the humblest of beginnings in 1926. We haven´t always been called LEMC as the name, the faces, the locations, the vision and more have transformed over time. But these early foundations have remained as part of our heritage – not dictating the present and the future but rather giving LEMC a solid, well rounded history.
The one thing that has not changed and will not change is that LEMC is dedicated to presenting the Good News of Jesus Christ and that He is the Saviour, the One who heals our hurts and the One who sets people free! If God would allow LEMC to be on this earth for another 80 or more years, may these truths never be compromised or watered down. To do this would be to lose sight of those humble beginnings, our solid foundation and to the very Word of God!
Yet LEMC is not your ordinary (if we can use that term) church! Yes, we bring the teachings of the Bible every week but not always in a lecture, classroom style. There is time to interact while utilizing a variety of media outlets (i.e. drama, video clips, and dramatic presentations), plus lots of great music.
LEMC is made up of people from every walk of life who come together to celebrate the love and goodness of God. Everybody´s story and journey is different but we all have them! That´s what makes LEMC so exciting, people coming and growing together as we seek God and all that He has for us. One thing is for sure, it is rarely dull around here!
LEMC continues to be a place of community and the best way to know that for sure is to come and check it out for yourself. But in the mean time – enjoy the web page and if you need further assistance, please follow the directions given and we´ll do our best to help you out. Thanks for taking the time to learn more about our LEMC family!
