small groups

A “Connextion” group is a regular gathering of 5-12 believers in a house location or at the church, for the purpose of mutual spiritual edification and evangelism. It follows the biblical pattern of the New Testament Church where, in Acts 2:36, they met “in the temple…and from house to house”. The early Church was successful in building close relationships and winning many to Jesus Christ based on this model. The Church in Acts 2:46 continued steadfastly in four things; the Apostles doctrine, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayers. A Connextion Group is to be a place to grow and to learn and to establish yourself in Him and develop significant relationships with other church members.

Where are they held?

Connextions groups are located in the homes of the church members or at the church. The establishment of new Connextions groups will be on going so you will have a variety of groups to chose from. People chose groups based on interest or need.

When are they held?

Each Connextion Group is held on a night chosen by the Members of that particular group. You will, therefore find home groups happening on various nights throughout the area. See the bulletin board in the foyer for group locations.

Can children attend?

Many of our Connextion Groups accommodate children as well. Don’t stay home just because you don’t have a babysitter. We will find a group who will minister to the needs of your whole family.

What happens at a connextions meetings?

Each Connextion Group leadership team is encouraged of course, to be lead by the Holy Spirit but a basic format is provided. During the course of the evening new members and guests are introduced, there is a time of praise and worship and there is a time of Word sharing (questions and sharing), as well as a time of learning to apply the Word to our individual lives. Prayer is also provided for the need of the groups participants as well as prayer for the lost. Finally, but not at all the least important, is a time of fellowship where we trust that you will establish genuine Christian relationships around refreshments. Note: activity based groups will follow a more open format as required by the focus of the group.

How can I become a part of a connextion group?

It is easy to join a Connextion Group. There are three basic ways of signing up:
  1. If you know of one in your area or know a friend who is attending one which you would like to be a part of just come with your friend to the meeting and introduce yourself to the groups leader(s).
  2. Call the church office and request to be placed in a Connextions Group in your area. Leave your name, phone number, and address with the secretary and she will immediately forward the information to the Connextion Group leadership.
  3. Fill out the form and mail it to LEMC or place it into an offering plate or take it to the “Welcome Center” in the foyer and someone there will be happy to help you.
